Ladbrokes Coral Plc Appoints Jason Scott as Interim Chief Executive of its Australian Division
Ladbrokes decision came upon the anticipation of Dean Shannon’s departure at the end of this month. Paul Cherry, Chief Operating Office was appointed to replace the current position, but his unexpected resignation last month for a career change with Division One has prompted the new interim position for Scott.
Labrokes has great confidence in appointing Jason Scott since he has had an integral part establishing the Bookmaker.com.au which was purchased by Ladbrokes in 2013. As the trading director with an extensive background in the industry it seemed natural that Scott would be a good fit in the role as the new interim chief executive.
“The Australian business continues to go from strength to strength and has delivered impressive growth since we brought it in 2013. We felt it was important that we preserved the entrepreneurial spirit within the team and in appointing Jason we have done just that. Jason has sports betting in his DNA and understands the market and more importantly, the Australian business better than anybody. His task is simple, keep the momentum in the business and keep the brand as fresh and as customer focused as it always has been.” – Ladbrokes chief executive, Jim Mullen
