March is a Milestone Month for Online Gambling in New Jersey
Online gambling in New Jersey has reach some new milestones for the month of March. According to analysts from one of the state’s websites the garden state collected $80 million just in total tax revenue.
The milestones the state reached were crucial to the online industry. The Division of Gaming Enforcement released the New Jersey Monthly Internet Gross Revenue Report Wednesday with it including a record breaking $21.7 million in gross revenues just for one month. This is the first time the online industry has exceeded the $20 million mark. With the month’s numbers, it puts the state past the $535 million mark since it launched online games in 2013.
Robert DellaFave, Senior Analyst for one of the state’s websites said,
“Nearly three-and-a-half years since its inception, the train that is the New Jersey online gambling industry continues to gather steam.”
“Any fears that land-based gamblers are trading in their chips and slot pulls for their online equivalents are misguided. New Jersey online gambling revenue largely comes from players that have never set foot inside an Atlantic City casino. Online gambling is a critical component of Atlantic City’s revitalisation efforts,” DellaFave added.
