Maryland Casinos Set a Monthly Gross Gaming Revenue of $150M

Maryland Continues with Successful Monthly Revenues Despite Some Struggles

Despite some struggles with land-based venues in Maryland casinos, revenues have continued to show progress for monthly stats. The six casinos in the state recorded $150 million in revenues for the first-time last month. According to the state’s gaming regulators, March 2018 figures was a gain of 6.3% compared to last year.

“We are incredibly proud of the performance of Maryland’s Casino industry,” said Gordon Medenica, the Maryland’s Lottery and Gaming Director. Medenica added, “We thank the thousands of players and customers.”

MGM National Harbor was the winner for the month. The casino resort in the DC area reported gross gaming revenues of $60.4 million. This amount alone is a new record for the state. Live Casino & Hotel in Anne Arundel came in second place earning $47 million for March. This is about a 1% increase compared to last year. The Horseshoe Casino Baltimore didn’t have a great month like the others did. They earned $24.8 million which is 7.8% less than the previous year.

Overall, most of the casinos in the state had a great month. Although Horseshoe Casino Baltimore is struggling the overall performance hits new records for monthly stats.
