Daily fantasy sports wagering has come to Iowa, DraftKings is the First Operator to Confirm its DFS License in the State
The DFS operator secured the deal earlier this month, and now has revealed its plans to launch in the state in just a few days. The new license was issued by the Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission with details of the license allowing DraftKings to roll out its mobile and online DFS contests across the state.
Reports from other media outlets said the states regulator said they may consider one other application for a DFS license in the state. DraftKings is ready to go live with the operator confirming the news on its Twitter account and answering several questions relating to the launch. DraftKings Chief Financial and Compliance Officer, Timothy Dent, commented on the news saying the company is happy to confirm the approval of their license after working diligently with the state regulator on the process. Dent added, they look forward to sports fans in the state being able to experience their industry-leading fantasy sports products real soon.
DraftKings, earlier in the month, opened three retail sportsbooks throughout the state in partnership with Wild Rose Entertainment. This is the next step to dominate the online sector of the sports betting market.
