FanDuel Group Creates a New Role of Chief People Officer

FanDuel Group has created a new role for its company, Chief People Officer. The DFS operator wasted no time finding someone to fill the role by appointing Lainie Cooney.

Cooney will be based at FanDuel’s Los Angeles office. She will lead the development of the human resources strategy department and will report directly to the operator’s Chief Executive Officer.

King, the company’s CEO spoke on behalf of FanDuel saying, “Lainie brings a passion for our business and a wealth of experience we can benefit from, and I am excited to add her to the senior leadership team. As FanDuel continues to grow globally, Lainie’s expertise will be invaluable.”

Cooney joins FanDuel with more than 25 years’ experience designing and executing strategies across the human resource sectors of several businesses and organizations. Cooney’s latest role was with Blue Apron where she served as the Chief Human Resources Officer. The creation of the new role and appointments comes after FanDuel announced their expansion opportunities across the US sports betting market. They partnered up with Meadowlands Racetrack a couple months ago and ranked as the number one sports betting operator in New Jersey.
