FanDuel is Donating $1,000 to the Women’s Sports Foundation for Every Goal Team USA Scores
FanDuel, for the very first time in history, is donating $1,000 to the Women’s Sports Foundation for every goal Team USA makes. The Women’s World Cup kicked off this week with FanDuel going all out to celebrate one of the biggest international sporting events of the summer. In addition to the $1,000, FanDuel said they are starting the donation off with an initial $10,000.
FanDuel has partnered with Zach Ertz, a two-time Super Bowl tight end for the Philadelphia Eagles, and the spouse of Julie Ertz, a US Women’s National Soccer Team superstar.
“When the USWNT won the World Cup title in 2015, it was a historic sporting event and a breakthrough moment for women’s soccer and female athletics. We’re excited to see what this year’s tournament has in store and are proud to support women’s sports and be the Women’s World Cup fantasy leader,” said Andy Giancamilli, Managing Director, FanDuel.
The Women’s Sports Foundation also commented on the donation saying, “Our Foundation is pleased to partner with organizations who, like us, want to empower girls and women to reach their potential in sport and in life.”
