At the start of spring, 32Red came to the agreement of ending its four year shirt sponsorship deal with League Cup winning football club Swansea City. 32Red parted ways a year early in exchange for a sum of £950,000, a sum which CEO Ed Ware told eGaming Review “…was impossible for us to refuse.” Ware also at the time stated, “if something comes up in football that we like then we’d go for it”.
Well the something that came up was a new two year sponsorship deal with English football club Crawley Town as well as a sponsorship for Newport County Association Football Club.
Commercial Manager for Crawley Town, Ewan Dunlop said, “This is a tremendous deal for the football club. We have attracted an internationally renowned company with a well-known brand who have an excellent track record of working with football clubs. “They are previous sponsors of Swansea City and also worked with Aston Villa in the Premier League. We are thrilled that they can see many benefits, like ourselves, of a partnership with Crawley Town. We look forward to a long a fruitful relationship and to working closely with 32Red.”
32Red, will be on the front of County’s three playing shirts for their debut season in the Football League, County’s home shirts will remain the traditional Amber with the away shirt being White. County will introduce a third shirt which is Black which is expected to be available late August/early September.
County Chief Executive Dave Boddy said “This is another massive step forward for the Club, attracting an international company to advertise their brand on our Clubs shirts. We are delighted to be working with 32Red and hope that is a stepping stone to developing relationships with other national companies and brands to compliment the excellent support we receive from local and regional businesses. They are a Premiership partner having sponsored Swansea City last season and also previously been shirt sponsors of Aston Villa”
Because of betting advertising regulations, 32Red are not allowed to advertise on apparel for children replica shirts, “Dreams & Wishes” County’s adopted Charity will be featured on front of those replicas. Crawley Town we will announce shortly who will be on the front of children’s-sized shirts.
Mark Quayle, Head of Marketing for 32Red said “We are thrilled to support Newport County in their first season back in the Football League. Having sponsored two clubs in the top flight, we’re now looking to invest in the roots of football. The Exiles are one of those clubs that caught our eye when looking for potential deals and we’re confident the team has what it takes to make the sponsorship a success for us.”
