MGM Lawsuit Claims US Department of the Interior and the Bureau of Indian Affairs Violated and Breached Federal Rules/Laws
MGM filed a lawsuit in the US District Court in Washington DC last week. Details of the lawsuit claims that the US Department of the Interior and the Bureau of Indian Affairs have violated and breached federal rules and laws. MGM’s dispute has been going on for some time. It started when the approval of the Tribal Winds Casino Connecticut joint venture was approved by the Bureau of Indian Affairs.
MGM decided to go ahead and file the new lawsuit after last week a new bill was proposed that would allow the tribe to build its gaming venue alongside the East Windsor resort. MGM has also gained approval to operate in the same town. MGM is opposing the approval of the tribe since they were given the approval first.
MGM claims their casino operations will not be at full capacity if the tribe continues with its casino venue. MGM Resorts was unsuccessful with its first challenging of the tribe but have high hopes that this lawsuit will be successful, and they can continue with their expectations and plans.
