If there were ever evidence that PokerStars is the best online poker site, which appears to have gone from strength to strength, despite now being closed to US players – this is it. They are hosting a European Poker Tour (EPT) event in Greece for the first time. This event takes place in November – called the EPT Loutraki – from the 15th to the 20th of the month, at the Club Hotel Casino. The Main event is a €4,000 + 400 buy-in, and a number of side events will also be hosted. Greek, or other online poker players who fancy a break in Greece; take note, there will also be buy-ins as prizes on offer at the site as we get closer to this event. Online qualifier tournaments take place for just a few Euros each – run deep in the Main Event and these prize pots turn into hundreds of thousands.
This is the 5th event of season 8 of the tour – just think – PokerStars hardly had to come up for breath after the US DoJ seized their domain?! The same cannot be said for the other sites which suffered the same fate. Even Full Tilt, as popular as this site was, has not been able to recover. It is incredible that the PokerStars European Poker Tour is back for an 8th Season. It is one of the richest poker tours in the world – a live tournament series that stages big-money poker events in exclusive, exciting, European destinations.
As well as the all-new stop in Loutraki, the regular Barcelona, London, San Remo, Tallinn and Prague events are on schedule too. Also, the largest live poker event to be held outside of Las Vegas, is the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure (PCA). Although this is not part of the EPT, it is still sponsored by this massive online poker brand, and we can’t think of a more exciting place than the Bahamas; to be introduced to a live poker tour.Written by Neha A
