PokerStars Reveals New Poker Game Innovation with Power Up Alpha Featuring Game Variances
PokerStars is in its testing phase of a its new poker product, Power Up Alpha. The new game is based on the traditional poker game of No Limit Hold’em with many similarities that will remain, while offering “powers that give players the ability to influence how hands play out and change up game play in a variety of ways.”
In a short 35 second presentation, PokerStars revealed a sleek new game table interface, flashing neon colors that light up across the table and lightning effects as the players power up during game play. The new integration is quite interactive featuring new ways to control the game with new card draws, and many new options that include Clone, Disintegrate, EMP, Engineer, Intel, Reload, Scanner, Upgrade and X-ray.
Director of Poker Innovation and Operations at PokerStars, Severin Rasset said,
“Power Up is currently in closed Alpha, meaning that we still have a lot of adjustments to make and many more features to add. For these reasons, it’s only available to a limited number of people and real money games are still a long way off. We’ll periodically expand the pool of players, while tweaking and adding features, while constantly taking feedback from the participants. More projects are in development with one common objective – to bring sustainable growth to PokerStars through exciting new products that people will discover and re-engage with. And this will mean that more people will continue to enjoy the great game of poker.”
Power up is said to still be in the production stages with many changes and adjustments being made. Pokerstars promises that the variances they are including, Beat The Clock, KO Poker, Spin & Go Limited edition will indeed be more than variances of the new Power Up.
