Back in February, PokerStars launched their fast paced “fast-fold” new play money poker game, Zoom. With many of the same ideas as Fulltilt’s Rush Poker, Zoom allowed players to play more hands over any given time period.
Last month saw the release of the real money version with a limited release for beta testing. So it only makes sense that the online poker room is working on a mobile version of PokerStars Zoom.
Jeffrey Hass, PokerStars director of new platforms revealed on the Two Plus Two poker forums that, even though there was not a specific launch date, “Our intent is to make our mobile game available in more countries, but I can’t comment on when that will occur.”
In a recent interview after the release of their first real money app, Hass spoke with Poker Strategy stating, I remember I said in 2006 that “this is the year for mobile poker”. Now, in 2012, this really is the year for mobile poker. I expect to see nearly 25% of our players using mobile by the end of 2012, and nearly 50% by 2013.
PokerStars’ mobile app is available on Apple and Android devices for customers in the UK and Italy, and a recent update included iPad 3 compatibility.
