New Gambling Regulations Forces William Hill to Pull Out of the Czech Republic Market
Leading casino and sports betting operator, William Hill has decided to leave the Czech Republic Market right before new gambling laws went into effect. William Hill informed their withdraw earlier this month via email of the news.
William Hill told operators that they will no longer be able to offer their services in the country because of the latest regulatory laws that were approved this year. The new Gambling Act in the Czech Republic was approved in the summer of 2016. They are going to be enforced officially the first of January 2017.
One of the details of the new laws is for all gambling operators to obtain new licenses from authorities before they can continue to offer their services in the country. William Hill assured its operators that they would have the opportunity to offer their services in the country at a later date if desired, but for now they were withdrawing themselves from the territory.
Government officials plan on enforcing new legislation by making internet service providers in the country to block gambling websites for all operators who are offering services illegally to Czech players.
