Nevada’s Regulators Confirms William Hill’s Launch of Seven New Sportsbooks and Amended Sports Betting Regulations
William Hill sportsbooks will be launched across the state of Nevada. According to the Nevada regulator, Nevada Gaming Commission, the launch of seven new sportsbooks, thanks to amendments to the sports betting regulations, will take place across the state soon. With new regulations pertaining to the state’s out-of-state sports wagers there is a possibility of other US states being allowed to accept wagers from sportsbooks in Nevada. The Commission focused on a modification meeting this past week that will alter the current wagering laws across the state.
The Nevada Gaming Commission also included in amendments for casinos to accept the last four of players’ social security number instead of the whole number for verification purposes. Gambling venues are, or were, required by law to obtain a player’s social security number when they won more than $1,200 for tax purposes.
According to news media outlets the Commission rejected a bill proposal that would allow players to signup at online sports betting sites. The Commission said all players must visit a land-based venue in order to signup to play online. William Hill was granted approval earlier this month to open several sportsbooks across the state, but the Commission had to adjust the amendments in order to clarify the approvals.
